Meet The Team

JB and Sons began as a side hustle to help pay for my daughter’s wedding in 2020. Being a man of faith and not afraid of a little hard work, I took a weekend to pray through my goals, skills, hobbies and resources.

 

The goal was the easy part. I needed to pay for a wedding in twelve months. As for skills, I had served in the local church for 30 years, so helping people is a passion and a skill I have acquired. With regards to hobbies, I have always enjoyed fixing things around the house and had a general understanding of home appliances. With goals, skills and hobbies identified, I combined them with my available resources: a truck, trailer, and dolly. Then, this idea emerged:

 

Find people looking for a good used appliances and offer to remove the hassle for them as a service.

 

With the help of friends and family, word quickly spread to property managers, real estate agents and locals looking for used appliances. To begin, I painted a friends condo for the seed money and purchased three sets of washers and dryers. After brokering the deal, I told the sellers my story, and delivered the appliances to their new home

 

One year later, my daughter’s wedding was paid in full and my wife and I gained a new son in law, Cody Rhymes.

This is where a side hustle turned into the family business, JB and Sons Appliance, LLC.

 

Cody, having worked 7 years of successful retail management at big box stores, he wanted a better work/home life balance for himself and his new bride. So, he traded in his corporate gig, got his appliance repair certification and became the first son at JB and Sons Appliance. Partnering with Cody is a dream come true!

 

At JB and Sons Appliance, making money isn’t the bottom line. We care about serving our community well, and meeting the needs of those around us as we live into our own family values.
